Title: Economic Consequences of Corporate Governance Disclosure: Evidence from the 2006 SEC Regulation on Related-Party Transactions

Introduction of Keynote Speaker: Associate Professor from the School of Accounting and Finance of the University of Waterloo and Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Toronto, studied with well-known accountant Ole-Kristian Hope. His research interests are in the field of empirical research including capital markets, banking credit, credit rating, corporate governance, related party transactions, etc. He has published academic papers in the Journal of Business Finance and Accounting. He is also an anonymous reviewer of Accounting Horizon, Journal of Corporate Finance and Contemporary Accounting Research.

Main Content: This paper examines the economic consequences of a 2006 Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulation mandating public firms to disclose their governance policies on related-party transactions (hereafter RPTs).
