The Business School has thoroughly studied and implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping's important thoughts on youth work. In the lead-up to and around the May Fourth Youth Day, the School organized a series of themed educational activities titled "Embrace Responsibility and Forge Youth," focusing on ceremonial education, strengthening theoretical learning, showcasing exemplary role models, and practicing a spirit of responsibility. These activities aim to guide and educate the majority of League members and young people to listen to and follow the Party, display youthful energy, demonstrate youthful charisma, and contribute youthful strength!
Emphasizing Ceremonial Education to Inspire Youthful Commitment
On the eve of May 4th, the Business School organized a ceremony for 50 new League members at the former site of the New Youth editorial office. Zhao Jie, Secretary of the League Committee, addressed the new members with expectations to aim high, study diligently, stay grounded, aspire to success, and actively contribute to society. Zhao encouraged the new members to blend their vibrant youth with the great era, and to contribute to the grand rejuvenation of the Chinese nation by writing a more magnificent chapter of youth. The members attentively visited and learned, immersing themselves in the passion of the pioneers who sought truth and enlightened the people. They are committed to pursuing their personal dreams and contributing to the country's prosperity with even greater enthusiasm and determination.
Strengthening Theoretical Learning to Enhance Youth Identity
The School organized a spring semester League school, inviting experts and scholars to deliver courses for prospective and current League members to solidify their theoretical foundation. Zhang Cong, Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee of Fangshan District and Vice Chairman of the Fangshan District Youth Federation, gave a lecture on "Introduction to Fangshan District and Reflections on How Youth Can Contribute to Fangshan's Development," covering the topics of "Three Sources, Six Major Fangshan, 1+3+N" in detail. Associate Professor Ge Xuebin from the School of Marxism presented a special report on "In-depth Study and Understanding of Xi Jinping's Cultural Thought," focusing on understanding key issues related to Xi Jinping’s cultural thought and grasping its rich connotations. The members of the League school thoroughly studied and absorbed the essence of the reports, reinforcing their beliefs, enriching their spiritual foundation, and ensuring practical application of their learning.
Showcasing Role Models and Highlighting Youthful Brilliance
The School emphasizes leveraging the power of role models among students by exploring peer resources and organizing role models to give talks. This approach encourages League members to emulate the exemplary figures around them. Zheng Zhichao from Accounting 214 shared his personal journey before and after joining the military, describing his diverse experiences and insights gained from army life during this spring’s League school. Zhao Xingcheng from Marketing 22 discussed his experiences overcoming challenges as a student leader. Inspired by these outstanding role models, League members and prospective members expressed that they had gained valuable insights. They are now motivated to continuously improve themselves and showcase their best qualities on the stage of youth.
Practicing Responsibility and Contributing Youthful Strength
In response to the "Hundred Teams Revitalize Hundred Villages" rural revitalization initiative by the Municipal Youth League Committee and the University Youth League Committee, the School has organized multiple field visits for League school students, Challenge Cup leaders, and administrative interns to Huangshandian Village in Zhoukoudian Town, Fangshan District. These visits allowed students to experience the "Red Backpack Spirit" and understand its historical context of "serving the people." By "measuring the land of the motherland with their steps," students engaged deeply with the achievements of national rural revitalization. They applied their professional knowledge to actively reflect on and propose solutions for weak development areas, contributing their wisdom and strength to rural revitalization through practical actions.
Moving forward, the School will organize a comprehensive study of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important messages for the May Fourth Youth Day and his thoughts on youth work. The School will host a variety of thematic Youth League Day activities, guiding League members and young people to grow into idealistic, responsible, hardworking, and persevering new-generation youths. These activities will encourage them to become vanguards and shock troops in the construction of a strong nation and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and to vigorously write the chapter of youthful responsibility in the modernization of China.
