To guide graduate students in enhancing their industry knowledge and exploring new career paths, Business School hosted a "Look at My Industry" career development salon on the morning of October 28 in the lecture hall on the third floor of Fucheng Road campus. Zhang Qian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Lu Ying, Graduate Counselor, and nearly 200 graduate students attended this event. Four distinguished alumni returned to share their experiences: Chen Rongjia (Postgraduate 09), Senior Manager at PWC Integrated Business Consulting; Huang Jin (Postgraduate 09), Executive Director and General Manager of Investment Division at China Construction Investment Management Co., Ltd.; Chen Zhinan (Postgraduate 10), Deputy General Manager of Human Resources Department at a large enterprise; Xu Yaoshun (Postgraduate 10), Director of External Cooperation for China Rural Vitalization Platform Division at Sinochem Group.
During the salon, Zhang Qian welcomed attendees and thanked the Student Development Association for organizing this event while acknowledging alumni support for their alma mater. She encouraged more alumni involvement in future activities to share knowledge with students and foster institutional growth through enhanced communication among alumni and current students.
Each alumnus shared insights from their ten-year post-graduation journey regarding career strategies and effective academic planning.
Chen Rongjia urged students to pursue their interests passionately as enthusiasm is crucial for success. Huang Jin advised them to "intensify efforts against elite universities," focusing on improving professional skills alongside information-gathering abilities. Chen Zhinan suggested younger peers should "be prepared and seize opportunities," outlining key considerations when selecting enterprises or job prospects. Xu Yaoshun emphasized through personal experience that it is vital to "persistently strive for learning."
In an interactive session, students actively engaged by asking questions that reflected their eagerness for deeper industry insights while humbly seeking advice from seniors. The alumni provided thorough responses addressing concerns along with practical suggestions.
Zhang Qian presented appointment letters recognizing four outstanding alumni as “career guides,” hoping they will mentor fellow students by sharing wisdom gained through effort toward achieving success.
Afterward, one-on-one interviews were conducted by members of the Student Development Association with all four alumni facilitating further exchanges.
