On November 11, at the invitation of the Silk Road International Think Tank Exchange Center, twelve students from our School of Business's International MBA Program attended the Silk Road Lecture Hall themed "Empowering Tomorrow: Youth Innovation and Dreams." Nearly 300 international students from over 70 countries, including those from the University of International Business and Economics, Beijing Foreign Studies University, China University of Petroleum (Beijing), and Beijing University of Technology participated in this event.
During the meeting, several participants delivered speeches. Xia Zehan, Director of UNESCO’s China Office, remarked that throughout history there has never been an initiative like the Belt and Road Initiative that unites a vast majority of countries to collaborate towards a common goal. This underscores that the Belt and Road Initiative will pave a bright future characterized by peace, development, cooperation, and win-win outcomes for generations to come. Professor Hong Xianghua, Deputy Director of the Scientific Research Department at the Party School of CPC Central Committee (Chinese Academy of Governance), elaborated on the profound significance of building youth power through "Belt and Road" initiatives for international economic cooperation. Yang Dongping, vice president and secretary-general of the Silk Road International Think Tank Exchange Centre and executive president of the Silk Road Encyclopedia Magazine, pointed out that over the past 10 years, international cooperation on the ‘Belt and Road’ has been extended from the Asian and European continents to Africa and Latin America. The eight actions proposed by President Xi Jinping have not only pointed out the direction for the development of the Belt and Road at a higher quality and level, but also opened up a broad space for the majority of young people to build up their career, start their own business, and realize their values and dreams.
Dwi Darmawan, an Indonesian student from Class 2023 at Business School represented international students during a media interview where he expressed gratitude for how eight actions under the Belt and Road Initiative have provided valuable opportunities for further study and cultural exchange in China. He noted that our Business School has established more platforms for international exchanges among students while actively implementing these initiatives. Darmawan stated his commitment to studying diligently in order to contribute to cooperative development between China and Indonesia as well as support efforts related to the Belt and Road Initiative.
Finally, Dahlia A. Ducreay—Director of International Cooperation Department at Silk Road Youth Forum—and an alumna from our university who graduated with MPAcc in 2013 gave concluding remarks emphasizing that hundreds of multilateral cooperation agreements were signed during the Third Belt & Road International Summit Forum which offers abundant developmental prospects for youth across various nations. She urged everyone to embrace youthful enthusiasm as they embark on what she termed “the next golden decade” associated with "Belt & Road".
Xu Jin, member of the CPPCC National Committee, director of the Central Ideological Construction Research Center of Jiusan Society and senior researcher of the Silk Road International Think Tank Exchange Center, attended and presented awards. Beijing Technology and Business University Business School International Exchange and certification Office executive deputy director Dr. Tian Xiaoran and project director Mr. Chen Xingyi led the team to attend the event.
