On October 19, the General Meeting of the Graduate Student Association at Business School took place in Room 313 on the third floor of West Campus along Fucheng Road. Attendees included Pan Meng, graduate counselor; Chen Chuhan and Yang Hongli, president of the 2022 Graduate Student Association; student leaders from the 2022 Business Research Association; and representatives from the 2023 graduate cohort.
At the beginning of the meeting, Chen Chuhan, chairperson of the 2022 Business Research Council (BRC), summarized last year's achievements and identified areas for improvement while outlining future goals. Following this, Pan Meng awarded certificates to outstanding student leaders from 22-level. Each candidate then delivered a speech about their intended positions, work philosophies, and commitment to serving faculty and students. The candidates supported each other enthusiastically during their presentations. An on-site voting process was conducted afterward to elect members for various roles within BRC as well as ministers and deputy ministers across departments.
After elections concluded, Pan Meng gave a closing address commending BRC's efforts over its previous term. She expressed gratitude towards retiring members while offering suggestions for future endeavors within BRC. Emphasizing that BRC serves all graduate students at our institution, she urged members to unite in effectively serving fellow students and contributing positively to institutional development.
Additionally, she conveyed three key expectations from Zhang Qian—deputy secretary of our College's Party Committee—for BRC: First, core members should consider college-wide interests when executing tasks aligned with growth; Second, fostering a positive collective spirit among association members is crucial; Thirdly—and importantly—members should embody dedication alongside public service values while gaining practical experience through active participation in Institute activities.
As we wrapped up this segment with Pan Meng issuing appointment letters followed by a group photo featuring newly elected primary student leaders from BSA (Business Studies Association), Wu Chao—the chairperson representing level '23—led attendees in taking an oath together.
This transition signifies continuity regarding exemplary initiatives established previously while heralding an exciting new chapter! New Institute members are set to uphold esteemed traditions within our Business School community while demonstrating care through collaborative service strategies aimed at achieving excellence collectively!
