Our students have won the First Prize in the 8th National College Student Logistics Design Competition

From May 23 to 26, the finals of the 8th National College Student Logistics Design Competition, sponsored by "Changchun International Automotive City & FAW Logistics Cup," were held in Changchun, Jilin. Our university's Logistics Science team won the First Prize in the competition. Additionally, our university is the only Beijing municipal university to receive a First Prize award.

In this competition, the "Beijing Technology and Business University Logistics Science Team," guided by Professor Lu Qiang and Dr. Luo Feng from the Department of Digital Operations, and consisting of Su Kemu from Supply Chain Management, Shi Yaqin and Si Ma Shuhui from Logistics Management, Zhang Yuxuan from the School of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (Cybersecurity Institute), and Pan Zhijie from the School of Economics (FinTech), won the First Prize. Their outstanding proposal design, impressive presentation, and excellent defense performance were key to their success.

Additionally, the competition featured a "Talent Fast-Track Program," awarding "Campus Recruitment Fast-Track Cards" to outstanding participants. This allows winners to intern at FAW Logistics before graduation, bypassing the resume screening and initial interview stages. All five members of our team successfully secured this opportunity.

The finals of this year's competition included a 15-minute PPT presentation followed by 15 minutes of Q&A with the judges. The Logistics Science team from our university focused on FAW Logistics' transformation and development. They optimized the logistics network for both components and complete vehicles, designing a solution that integrates the entire automotive supply chain. They proposed a strategic path of offline network-based operations, online integrated services, and value-driven business ecosystems, and developed a "Four-All" smart supply chain integration service platform. Their outstanding performance earned them full recognition from the judges and secured the First Prize, showcasing the excellence of Beijing Technology and Business University students.

The National College Student Logistics Design Competition is one of the "Quality Engineering" projects approved by the Ministry of Education and has been featured on the list of undergraduate student competitions published by the Chinese Higher Education Association for several consecutive years. It is categorized as an A-level event in our university's undergraduate competition directory.

This year's competition was organized by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, with case support provided by the Changchun Automotive Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee and FAW Logistics Co., Ltd., and hosted by Changchun Automotive Vocational Technical College. Since its launch in November 2023, the competition has garnered widespread attention and support from all sectors of society and has received significant focus and active responses from universities offering logistics programs nationwide. Many universities held internal selection competitions to recommend their strongest teams for the national competition. A record 699 teams from institutions such as Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Tianjin University, Beijing University of Science and Technology, Beijing Jiaotong University, and Beijing Technology and Business University qualified for the national competition. After rigorous preliminary and semi-final selections, 90 teams advanced to the finals to compete for national awards.

This award represents a significant achievement in the talent cultivation of our logistics management program, recognized as a national-level first-class undergraduate major, and the supply chain management program, which is a pilot for the new liberal arts construction by the Ministry of Education. It also reflects the important outcomes of our interdisciplinary digital business education.

The Business School will use this as an opportunity to continue its efforts, leveraging the construction of top-tier programs to comprehensively advance reforms and innovations in the digital business talent cultivation model under the new liberal arts context. This includes interdisciplinary integration, industry-education-research integration, and talent development. The school is committed to contributing to the creation of "double first-class" disciplines and the development of a high-level research-oriented university.
