The 4th International Supply Chain Modeling and Design Competition was successfully held at Beijing Technology and Business University’s Fucheng Road campus from May 11 to 12. The competition was organized by the China Communications and Transportation Association, hosted by the Business School at Beijing Technology and Business University, and supported technically by Loxley and Suning Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd.
The event attracted active participation from a total of 381 institutions, 586 teams, and 2,587 contestants. Following the review process, 25 teams advanced from the Challenge Round, 39 teams from the Undergraduate Elite Round, and 34 teams from the Vocational Elite Round to the national finals. Over 500 participants competed on campus, and more than 250,000 people watched the event online.

On the morning of May 11, the 4th International Supply Chain Modeling and Design Competition officially opened. The opening ceremony was hosted by Gao Weiwei from the China Communications and Transportation Association.
Vice President Kou Hongjiang, representing the hosting organization, delivered a warm welcome speech, extending heartfelt greetings to the participants and judges who had traveled from afar.
Vice President Li Gang, representing the organizing body, praised the successful organization of the competition and expressed anticipation for the event to drive innovation and development in the field of supply chain modeling and design.
Wang Xi, representing Suning Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., as a technical support unit, conveyed strong support and confidence in the success of the competition.
The competition, themed "Digital Modeling Empowerment: Reducing Costs, Increasing Efficiency, and Strengthening the Supply Chain," incorporated real-world supply chain case studies from businesses. Participating teams applied supply chain modeling theories, methods, and tools to analyze problems, collect data, build systems models, and design solutions based on the case backgrounds and specific issues. They then summarized and presented their solutions.

The competition also awarded Outstanding Mentor Awards, Best Organizing Institution Awards, and Special Contribution Awards. Teams from National University of Singapore, Macau University of Science and Technology, and Beijing Jiaotong University achieved notable results. Our university's two teams secured the First and Second Grand Prizes in the Undergraduate Group.
On May 12th, the closing ceremony of the competition was held, with Zhao Chuan, Associate Dean of the Business School, serving as the host. Vice President Kou Hongjiang of Beijing Technology and Business University announced the award winners. Professor He Mingke from Beijing Technology and Business University provided a technical review of the competition, praising the participants' innovative abilities and professional skills.
During the keynote speeches, experts including Wang Guowen, Director of the Logistics and Supply Chain Management Research Institute at China (Shenzhen) Comprehensive Development Research Institute; Yang Fan, Researcher at Tsinghua University's Artificial Intelligence and Management (AIM) Research Center; Yuan Jiandong, Assistant President and General Manager of Operations Management at China Great Wall Technology Group; and Zhang Tiancheng, Director of the Solver Business at Sundus Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., delivered insightful discussions on topics such as the application of AI and big data analysis across the supply chain, AI-driven supply chain simulation, talent capabilities in the digital supply chain era, and the underlying computing engines for modern supply chain management optimization. Their talks provided cutting-edge academic perspectives and industry insights for the attendees.
After the awards ceremony, Vice President Li Gang, representing the organizing committee, delivered a concluding speech. He congratulated the successful execution of the competition and expressed heartfelt thanks to all the participants, judges, and staff involved. Li Gang also presented Beijing Technology and Business University with the "Special Contribution Award" in recognition of the university's significant contributions to hosting the event. With this, the Fourth International Supply Chain Modeling and Design Competition concluded successfully at Beijing Technology and Business University.
The successful hosting of this international competition at our university not only signifies recognition from both academia and industry of our achievements in digital transformation but also serves as a significant showcase of our comprehensive achievements in integrating industry, academia, and research.
