As part of the "High-quality Education Teaching Action Plan Lecture Series" of Business School, Professor Liao Jiangqun gave a special lecture entitled "The Dimension of Love: The Maintenance and Construction of Intimate Relationships" on the afternoon of November 29. Faculty representatives from business school and graduate students attended online and offline.
Professor Liao Jiangqun is a high-level talent introduced from Tsinghua University. He has won many outstanding paper awards in the international and domestic academic circles. He is the director of the China Branch of the International EAP Society, the secretary-general of the Applied Psychology Committee of the Chinese Social Psychological Society, and the member of the Economic Psychology Committee of the Chinese Psychological Society. Has a high academic status.
Professor Liao takes a psychological perspective to explore the meaning, construction and maintenance of intimate relationships. At the beginning of the lecture, she asked everyone present to draw their own understanding of love, which enlivened the atmosphere of the lecture. Next, she stepped into the theme of the lecture. She first asked the teachers and students attending the lecture "what is love", gave the understanding of the representative of psychology on love, and then mentioned that love has equality, permanence, exclusivity and dependence. In addition, she divides attachment in love into four types, alienation, fear, security and obsession, and explains the characteristics of the four attachment types, whether they will change, and how to make ideal changes to facilitate the construction of intimate relationships. The related love type theory also includes the love triangle theory and the 7 types of love model theory. Let's move on to the next part of the lecture -- maintaining close relationships. She explains how to maintain love when it exists, so that love is unwavering in various situations, from understanding, communication, change, and action four aspects. She explained Jung's archetype theory and gender role theory in depth, and under the guidance of these classic psychological theories, the maintenance of intimate relationships is more rational and reliable. Further, she stressed the need to build a positive cognition of love, proposed that through reasonable and appropriate practices to let love walk slowly, so that love can be kept fresh, no matter what kind of changes in the external environment and the baptism of time can be consistent.
Subsequently, Ms. Liao actively interacted with the participating teachers and students, expanding the depth and breadth of the lecture. This lecture not only demonstrated superb teaching skills and rich teaching content to the vast number of teachers and students, but also helped them understand the emotional relationship dimension at the psychological level. And it can inspire us to fully cross-integrate psychological and emotional research with consumer psychology, customer relations, and human resource management.
