To enhance the undergraduate program recruitment and promotional efforts and showcase the achievements and unique features of the Business School’s programs, the Business School held an undergraduate program recruitment and promotional exhibition on April 26th in the Comprehensive Building, Room 501, at the Fuchenglu campus. The event was attended by Shi Song, Director of the Admissions and Employment Office, Bu Xiaoyuan, Director of the Undergraduate Admissions Office, and Fu Shilun, Party Secretary of the Business School. The meeting was also attended by all department heads, undergraduate program leaders, and teaching secretaries. The session was chaired by Vice Dean Qiu Yong.

Fu Shilun, Party Secretary of the Business School, extended a warm welcome and expressed gratitude to Shi Song, Director of the Admissions and Employment Office, and Bu Xiaoyuan, Director of the Undergraduate Admissions Office, for their guidance and support. He provided an overview of the current status of the Business School's recruitment and employment efforts. He emphasized that the timing of this professional presentation and exhibition activity is crucial, given the current key period for recruitment presentations across various regions.

Fu noted that the event serves several purposes: first, it allows each program to comprehensively review and highlight its strengths and unique features; second, it provides a platform for programs to present and exchange ideas, which is beneficial for optimizing presentation content, learning from each other, and improving overall presentation effectiveness. Regarding employment, Fu mentioned that the school is actively engaging with businesses to expand job opportunities and improve the integration of recruitment, training, and employment to enhance quality and efficiency. He concluded by expressing heartfelt thanks to the Admissions and Employment Office for their concern and support of the Business School's recruitment and employment efforts.

Shi Song, Director of the Admissions and Employment Office, outlined the overall arrangements for this year’s school recruitment efforts and emphasized the importance of hosting recruitment presentation activities. He highlighted two key points:

  1. Showcasing Program Strengths:      The talent cultivation goals are a concentrated reflection of the program's distinctive advantages. Through presentation and exhibition activities, it is beneficial to comprehensively review the program's   development achievements, talent cultivation positioning, and objectives,  thereby better showcasing the school's strengths and increasing its visibility and reputation.

  2. Addressing Key Concerns: Candidates and their families are most concerned with program rankings,  elective subjects, curriculum structure, training stages, and employment prospects. The presentation and exhibition activities help participating teachers grasp detailed information about each program, enabling them to better  address questions from candidates and their families during recruitment  presentations.

Director of the Undergraduate Admissions Office, Bu Xiaoyuan, provided a detailed introduction to this year’s school recruitment policies and key presentation points, using comprehensive data from various perspectives including the school’s overview, specialty programs, talent cultivation, admissions policies, and highlights of the Business School. She emphasized the distinctive practices in talent cultivation, such as flexible study systems, academic mentorship, all-English classes, experimental classes, Sino-foreign cooperative education, external training, dual-degree programs, and minor degrees. Additionally, she highlighted the school’s policy on changing majors. Bu Xiaoyuan’s presentation showcased the school's educational philosophy and distinctive characteristics.

Six undergraduate programs from the Business School were presented, with teachers Zhang Chenyu, Shi Haijiao, Duan Mengran, Yang Miao, Zhu Yuting, and Yan Ke providing comprehensive overviews of Accounting, Marketing, Financial Management, Business Administration, Logistics Management, and Supply Chain Management. They covered aspects such as program introduction, objectives, distinctive features, faculty, core courses, practical teaching, and career prospects.

Following the presentations, Director of the Admissions and Employment Office, Shi Song, offered her feedback. She emphasized that:

  1. The design of the training programs should enhance students' sense of achievement, and the presentations should highlight the trend towards digital transformation in business education.

  2. Presentation slides should include more images and use less specialized jargon, aiming to make  the recruitment presentations more conversational and accessible.

  3. The focus should be  on the needs of prospective students and their parents, with particular  emphasis on employment and further education opportunities.

Additionally, Director Shi Song highly commended the Business School for its commitment to employment efforts, stressing the importance of strengthening students' internship and practical skills, and continuing to expand job opportunities for graduates through proactive company visits and job placement initiatives.

Finally, Vice Dean Qiu Yong of the Business School summarized the professional recruitment and promotion event. He expressed gratitude for the continuous support and guidance provided by the Admissions and Employment Office regarding the Business School's recruitment and employment work, as well as the policy analysis and presentation assistance during the event. He also commended the six teachers who participated in the professional presentations for their substantial preparation and effort. Vice Dean Qiu emphasized that the faculty of the Business School will continue to strive forward, focusing on improving talent cultivation and program development, and persistently enhancing the quality of student recruitment.
