On the afternoon of November 29, 2023, the Institute and the Beijing Association for Industry Development Strategy Committee collaboratively convened a seminar titled "Digital Economy and Industry Development." The focus was on talent cultivation amidst the digital transformation in education, addressing accounting and auditing challenges during this transition, exploring issues related to digital asset accounting, analyzing platform economy monopolies, and discussing enterprise digital transformation strategies. The seminar was co-chaired by Professor He Yurun, Dean of Business School, alongside Zhou Chongkui, Director of the Beijing Association for Professional Development Strategy Committee. Attendees included Wang Ning, Vice President of the Beijing Association for Professional Development Strategy; Zeng Tiebing, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Chinese Certified Public Accountants; members from both associations; as well as faculty from our college.
Professor He Yurun commenced by extending a warm welcome to members of the Beijing Notes Association Industry Development Strategy Committee on behalf of Business School. She highlighted that Beijing Technology and Business University maintains a robust collaborative relationship with this association. Several faculty members specializing in accounting and auditing have significantly contributed to advancing registered accounting practices within Beijing. The association has provided substantial support to enhance personnel training initiatives, subject research endeavors, and audit practice development at our institution. Looking ahead, she emphasized that business school should engage more deeply in industry-university collaborations while fostering exchanges with academic communities focused on auditing—ultimately aiming to bolster CPA industry growth while serving both local needs and broader societal goals.
Wang Ning expressed gratitude towards Business School for hosting this seminar on behalf of his organization—the Beijing Notes Association. He acknowledged both contributions made by—and influence exerted through—Beijing Technology and Business University within accounting disciplines while noting its role as a vital source for talent within China's certified public accountant sector. Furthermore, he commended their efforts in nurturing numerous exceptional professionals who contribute meaningfully to this field's advancement in Beijing specifically. Wang asserted that university-led scientific research ought not only provide essential theoretical frameworks guiding industry evolution but also actively participate outside academia—involving itself directly with practical applications—to cultivate skilled individuals through meaningful interactions between educational institutions teachings versus real-world practices.
In the seminar session, Professor He Yurun gave a report on talent cultivation under the digital transformation of education. She believes that the digital transformation of higher education is an integrated, systematic and all-round innovation and change process. It not only directly relates to the quality of personnel training in our country, but also deeply affects the entire society's digital transformation development and the country's competitive advantages. She believes that the digital transformation of university education in the future will show six trends, including blended learning, personalized training, breaking through time and space constraints, learner-centered, learning-based teaching and lifelong learning. In this context, what kind of people to train, how to train people, what we do and other issues need to be deeply thought about, she believes that the current urgent need to cultivate digital talents, improve the quality of digital talents, digital technology innovation to empower the development of digital education, establish digital awareness, clear digital capabilities, build digital curriculum system, innovative teaching scenes, digital course resources, etc. Promote adaptive learning. Then, she introduced the exploration, practice and achievements of Beijing Technology and Business University and Business School in promoting the digital transformation of education, and expounded the general issues such as the blueprint for talent training under the digital background of business school, the digital curriculum construction plan, and the path of digital transformation of the business department.
