China has made major breakthroughs in international standardization in the field of logistics

The proposal for the ISO/TC (Logistics Standardization Technical Committee), submitted by China IoT under the Department of Standards Innovation at the General Administration of Market Supervision, was formally approved by ISO in June 2023 (ISO Resolution 47/2023). This is China's first international standardization technical committee in logistics and represents a significant advancement in this field.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a global federation of national standardization bodies, with international standards typically developed by its technical committees. The newly established Innovation Logistics Standardization Technical Committee, known as ISO/TC 344, has its secretariat in China and is managed by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing. Professor He Mingke from Beijing Technology and Business University has been recommended as its first chairman, while Xiao Shuhuai, Director of the International Cooperation Department at China IoT, will serve as secretariat manager.

The establishment of ISO/TC 344 marks an important milestone for China's logistics industry on its path to global engagement. It creates new opportunities for China to shape global logistics standards, align with international benchmarks, and enhance technology and service levels within this sector. Additionally, it promotes innovative development in China's logistics landscape, facilitates global economic exchanges, and accelerates the formation of a dual-circulation development model encompassing domestic and international markets.
