The sixth session of "High-quality Education Teaching Action Plan Lecture Series" of Business School was successfully held

On the afternoon of December 7, 2023, Professor He Mingke, a distinguished professor and doctoral supervisor at Business School Beijing Technology and Business University, was invited to deliver an insightful lecture on "Higher Education Reform and Teacher Academic Development" for the faculty members of the institution. The session was chaired by Professor Lu Qiang, Director of the Department of Logistics Management.


        Professor He Mingke is not only a prominent figure in his field but also holds several esteemed positions: he is a doctoral supervisor, an expert receiving special government allowances from The State Council, and recognized as an eminent educator in Beijing. Additionally, he serves as Deputy Director of the Logistics Education Committee under the Ministry of Education, Chairman of the International Organization for Standardization's Innovation Logistics Technical Committee (ISO/TC 344), and Deputy Director of the Expert Committee on Higher Logistics Education within the Chinese Society of Logistics.
        In his lecture, Professor He systematically presented an overview of global higher education development with respect to China, Europe, and the United States. He elucidated five core missions that higher education must fulfill: personnel training, scientific research, social service provision, international exchange facilitation, and cultural inheritance preservation. Furthermore, he highlighted pilot reforms in China's higher education system while proposing significant developmental directions necessitated by digital transformation within educational industries.


        Focusing specifically on academic advancement among college educators, Professor He underscored political expectations placed upon them while encouraging their aspiration to become exemplary educators characterized by "four good teachers" principles alongside "four guiding roles." Subsequently he articulated sixteen standards defining what constitutes a "good" college teacher—these include excelling in learning processes; preparing curricula effectively; delivering engaging lectures; mentoring students; producing high-quality research papers; authoring comprehensive textbooks; executing responsibilities diligently; conducting productive meetings; managing projects efficiently; adhering to time management practices; leading cohesive teams; fostering meaningful professional relationships; cultivating positive public images; assuming accountability responsibly; maintaining emotional well-being through effective mood management strategies as well as prioritizing personal health through regular exercise. Finally, he meticulously outlined attainable academic objectives for college instructors while delineating pathways toward their scholarly growth.
        Throughout his presentation Professor He integrated insights drawn from his own professional journey along with life experiences which enriched discussions with attending faculty members regarding inevitable trends shaping collegiate educational reform alongside strategic choices available for advancing their academic careers. Following this enlightening session participants engaged warmly with Professor He under Chairperson Lu Qiangs guidance expressing profound appreciation for newfound knowledge gained during this interaction whilst reminiscing about shared experiences paving avenues towards future collaborative endeavors!
