On 10th December, a seminar on the construction of high-precision disciplines was successfully held at Business School Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU). Fu Shilun, Secretary of the Party Committee of Business School Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU), attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Xie Zhihua, former vice president of Beijing Technology and Business University, Mao Jiye, former dean of Renmin University of China Business School, Lin Song, dean of Central University of Finance and Economics (CFEU) Business School, Liu Yi, chair professor of Antai College of Economics and Management of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Mao Xinshu, dean of Graduate School of Beijing Technology and Business University, Zhao Chuan, deputy dean of Business School Beijing Technology and Business University, as well as the principals of various disciplines, full-time teachers and graduate students of various disciplines of business School Beijing Technology and Business University attended the meeting . Zhao Chuan, deputy dean of Beijing Technology and Business University, and Deng Chunping, director of the Department of Business Administration of Beijing Technology and Business University, respectively presided over the keynote speech and the discussion session on the construction of discipline direction.
During the leadership speech, Secretary Fu Shilun expressed warm welcome and sincere thanks to all the experts and scholars attending the meeting. He pointed out that as a high-level research university focused on construction in Beijing, the third-Party Congress of the school this year clearly will build a high-level research university with business, light industry and food characteristics as the future development goal of the school, the school firmly takes the "business strong, engineering fine, business integration, two-wheel drive" connotation development road. The seminar was held in the context of the reorganization of the school's faculties, with the aim of promoting the exchange of learning among the various disciplines of the school. Finally, Secretary Fu introduced the experts and scholars attending this meeting.
In the lecture session, Prof Xie Zhihua, former vice president of Beijing Technology and Business University, introduced the experience and thoughts on the construction of high-quality disciplines, and explained in detail from the aspects of disciplinary direction condensation, speciality construction, cross-disciplinary fusion, combination of theory and practice, the way of forming scientific research team and personnel composition, building scientific research platform, and focusing on the construction of mechanism, and so on. Professor Mao Jiye, former dean of Business School of Renmin University of China, introduced the experience of thinking about the construction of business administration disciplines in the era of AI big model, and believed that the development of AI technology has subverted the way and content of teaching and scientific research in colleges and universities, which has brought opportunities and challenges to the construction of business administration disciplines. Aiming at the shortcomings of the current business education, he proposed the transformation direction of business education concept, which is mainly reflected in the teaching content and method, teaching management process, school organizational structure, education model innovation, and external ecological environment. Dean Mao believes that the experimental teaching method is more important in the era of AI, and that the education concept of student-centered, large class training, focusing on the improvement of students' soft skills, innovative and critical thinking and humanistic spirit should be established. As for the construction of first-class disciplines, Dean Mao put forward the signs of first-class discipline construction and the ‘four-one’ tasks of full-time teachers. Professor Lin Song of Business School, Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE) reported on the experience of business education in the digital era, put forward the challenges of business education in the digital era, introduced the practical experience of talent cultivation in CUFE Business School, and put forward his own thoughts on the future to continue to maintain the characteristics of academic disciplines and specialties, actively promote the digital transformation of business education and cultivate applied, complex and innovative talents. Professor Liu Yi of Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University introduced the research experience and insights in the field of strategic marketing, and believed that important, interesting and novel research topics, correct theoretical and literature support and profound, novel and scientific research methodology constitute the three elements of good research results. On this basis, Prof Liu proposed the future research direction of strategic marketing field, which is mainly embodied in focusing on the new technology, new industry and new scenarios, as well as the sustainability of enterprise development, i.e. the harmonious balance of environment, society and marketing. Finally, Prof Liu introduced the academic research content of strategic marketing field by taking three high-grade journal papers published by himself as examples.
During the seminar on discipline development, Professors Zhang Weihua, Yang Haoxiong, Zhang Jingyun, Zhu Rong, Qiu Yong and Li Nao respectively introduced their experience in discipline development in the fields of financial management and accounting, logistics management, marketing, strategic Management and innovation and entrepreneurship, organizational behavior and Human resources and tourism management. The future development of this discipline is also prospected.
Finally, Professor Xie Zhihua, former Vice president of Beijing Technology and Business University, summarized the meeting. This seminar on the construction of advanced and advanced disciplines deeply discussed the implementation path of the construction of high-quality disciplines, the digital transformation of business education in the digital era, and the positive empowerment of emerging digital technologies for university teaching and scientific research activities, which not only promoted the academic discussion on the development of high-quality business education, but also provided guidance for promoting the construction of a high-level research-oriented university in our university.
