Business School Holds a Special Lecture on "Origin, Principles, and Application Scenarios of Blockchain Technology"

On the morning of January 25, 2024, the Business School held a special lecture on "Origin, Principles, and Application Scenarios of Blockchain Technology" at the Fucheng Road Campus. The lecture featured Professor Li Jian, a renowned expert in supply chain finance, blockchain technology, and applications, and the director of the Blockchain Research Center at Beijing University of Technology. He provided an in-depth interpretation for the faculty and students of the Business School. Dean He Yurun attended the lecture and welcomed Professor Li Jian on behalf of the school. The lecture was attended by more than 30 graduate students and was presided over by Vice President Qiu Yong.

As an authority in the field of blockchain, Professor Li Jian first provided a comprehensive analysis of blockchain from its definition and characteristics. He pointed out that blockchain is a decentralized, tamper-proof, and secure distributed ledger technology, with the core being the continuous growth of data blocks to ensure the transparency and security of transactions and information. The emergence of this technology has not only brought innovation to the financial field but also shown great application potential in supply chain, medical, real estate, and other fields. Subsequently, Professor Li Jian detailed the technical principles of blockchain, including distributed storage, peer-to-peer transmission, consensus mechanisms, and cryptography. In the final part of the lecture, Professor Li Jian looked forward to the development trends of blockchain. He expressed that despite current challenges in scalability and regulations, blockchain will become a powerful tool to change traditional business and social models with the continuous advancement of technology and the expansion of application fields.
