Overview
The Human Resource Management (HRM) major was established as a separate discipline in 2001, having previously been a specialization within the Business Administration program. The master’s degree program in this field falls under the Human Resource Management direction within the “Business Management” discipline. The HRM major currently has six full-time faculty members, including one professor, three associate professors, and two lecturers. Among them, five hold doctoral degrees, and all five are master’s supervisors. Three of the faculty members are recognized as key young and middle-aged teachers in Beijing, and five have international study or training experience.
Educational Objectives
This major aims to cultivate well-rounded professionals who meet the needs of 21st-century national and capital economic development and social progress. Graduates are expected to master the basic theories and knowledge of management, economics, and human resource management. They will acquire qualitative and quantitative analytical skills in HRM, become familiar with relevant policies, laws, and regulations, and develop practical HRM capabilities. Graduates will also possess strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, organizational coordination, and leadership abilities. The program focuses on nurturing ethical, knowledgeable, and practical talent with an innovative spirit and the ability to apply their skills in a professional context.
Program Characteristics
The HRM major emphasizes the development of students’ theoretical knowledge and fundamental competencies in human resource management. Building on this foundation, the program focuses on training students in HRM skills, aiming to produce high-level HRM specialists who can meet the needs of enterprises and various other organizations.

Core courses include Management, Labor Economics, Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Theories and Methods of Human Resource Testing, Employee Training and Development, Performance Management, Compensation Management, Human Resource Information System, Labor Law, Theories and Methods of Communication, among others.
Practical Teaching
The HRM major places great importance on practical teaching. Many core courses incorporate a significant amount of practical content. The curriculum systematically includes social practice, professional internships, and graduation internships as key components of the training process. Students are also encouraged to participate in internships during winter and summer breaks, with established internship bases such as Career International, where faculty members provide guidance.

In recent years, the domestic HRM field has expanded, and there is expected to be strong demand for HR professionals for the foreseeable future, offering broad career prospects and promising career development opportunities. Graduates can work in HRM roles within various enterprises, public institutions, and government departments, as well as in HR consulting roles in various consulting firms.
